Did You Know? The Impact of OPPC in our Community

Did you know that your support of our community outreach has touched thousands of lives across Hamilton County and beyond? This year, we’ve focused our efforts on two critical areas: combating loneliness and fighting food insecurity. At OPPC, our mission is to serve with love and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need us most. Your continued support is crucial to maintaining these impactful ministries, ensuring we can keep meeting the needs of our community.

  • 400 Meals Served: Thanks to your contributions, we provided 400 meals at our Trunk or Treat and Easter Egg Hunt events, offering not just food but fellowship and joy to those who attended.
  • Family Promise of Indianapolis: In April 2024, 5 families received meals for one week, and we’re preparing to do the same for another 5 families in September. Your support helps alleviate food insecurity in our community.
  • Vacation Bible School (VBS): This past summer, we welcomed 139 participants at VBS—80 of whom were not regular OPPC attendees. We continue to foster connections with our broader community, creating a safe and welcoming environment for children.
  • Hamilton County Food Pantry: In 2024, over 11,000 Hamilton County residents received assistance through the CUMC Food Pantry. Thanks to OPPC’s contributions—financial donations, in-kind gifts, egg purchases, and volunteers—we’ve been able to make a significant impact in reducing food insecurity for thousands of families.
  • Preschool Scholarships: Each year, we serve 184 families through our preschool, with 5 families receiving scholarships, ensuring access to quality education regardless of financial circumstances.

Your faithful support allows us to continue combating loneliness and food insecurity in Hamilton County. Maintaining these essential ministries requires your ongoing commitment. By keeping or modestly increasing your pledge, you help ensure that these programs, which so many rely on, remain strong.

  • Fighting Food Insecurity: Your pledge ensures that we can continue providing support to families through the Hamilton County Food Pantry, maintaining the level of assistance that’s essential for those in need.
  • Combating Loneliness: Our Together Today program brings 20-30 seniors together each Wednesday for fellowship and fun, helping fight loneliness in our community. Your continued giving helps maintain these vital spaces where individuals can find companionship and care.

Please prayerfully consider pledging by October 6th to maintain the level of impact our community needs.

Thank you for being a part of these life-changing ministries. Your support ensures we can continue making a difference. We invite you to log into your Realm account and make your pledge or return your Pledge Card to the church offic by October 6th to keep these ministries thriving.
